how we operate
Sulaa is a Maine wood-fired mobile sauna studio designed for temporary placement in scenic locations. We seek out beautiful locations (mostly lakefront) to setup so you can enjoy a Nordic circuit inspired experience—cycling from the heat to a cold-water plunge. If wild water isn’t available, we offer a cold outdoor shower. In the coldest of cold months we use the frigid temperatures and the great outdoors for the cool down.
Think of us as a long-stay pop-up—we remain at each location for 6–12 weeks (ideally a full season), giving us time to create meaningful community.
Public sessions are a wonderful way to connect with other community members while enjoying a more affordable and accessible sauna experience. They’re ideal if you’re coming solo, curious to try sauna for the first time, or looking to build a regular, sustainable wellness habit into your routine.
Private sessions are perfect for gathering your own group—friends, family, or coworkers—to share the sauna together. They’re connective, playful and special, giving you the space to relax, laugh, and be fully present with the people you choose.

the sauna
Traditional Finish style + some modern amenities— powered by Finland’s IKI wood-fired stove and off-grid solar lighting, perfect for sauna after dark and moonlit swim sessions. Both hot and cold rooms follow the classic bathhouse tradition, built for as many refreshing buckets of water as you can pour over your head.
We chose a spacious layout with a maximum capacity of 12 people to capture the authentic essence of sauna culture: gathering, relaxation and ritual. This makes it the perfect setting for true community sauna sessions, celebrations, special events, and creative fusion offerings.
